    Features

From First Idea to Shipped Boxes

    01

Help Choosing the Right Box Style

We help you work out the right box format before you commit to a design or order. Send a description of the product, a rough quantity and a budget range, and we recommend a format that fits the channel and price point, with the trade-offs explained in plain language.

    02

    Full-Colour Print Across the Box

Sharp full-colour printing across the exterior with consistent registration on every panel. Suitable for photography, gradients and saturated brand colours. Logo edges stay crisp on close inspection. Print can extend to the inside surfaces too if the unboxing moment calls for branding inside the lid or on the inner walls.

    03

Custom Sizes Built Around Your Product

No stock size range. Every box is dieline-cut to the exact dimensions of your product, with internal clearance specced so the contents sit snug rather than sliding around in transit. Tell us the product dimensions or send a sample, and the dieline is built around what is going inside.

    04

Dieline Design and File Prep Help

First-time buyers without print-ready files get hands-on help. We build the dieline, supply a flat artwork template back to your designer, and check incoming files for bleed, registration and resolution before plates run. Saves the back-and-forth that catches new packaging buyers off guard.

    05

    Foil, Spot UV and Embossing

Detail finishes that lift the print without changing the box construction. Foil stamping in gold, silver, rose gold or copper for metallic accents. Spot UV for selective high-gloss areas. Embossing or debossing for tactile lift. Combine finishes to highlight a logo, pattern or wordmark.

    06

Kraft, White Card and Rigid Materials

Three substrate families covering most packaging needs. Kraft for natural-look brands and lower price points. White card for full-coverage colour and clean photography. Rigid board for premium products where the box itself signals value. We talk through which fits your brand before plates lock in.

    07

    Flexible Minimums from 100 Units

Minimum order is flexible, with 100 units the recommended starting point for a first run. Small enough to test the packaging on real customers and check how the artwork translates onto a physical box, without committing to a four-figure invoice before the design has proven itself.

    08

    Two-Week Production Including Free Shipping

Production runs 8 to 10 business days from proof approval, plus 3 to 5 days transit. Free shipping covers metro and regional addresses Australia-wide. From signed-off proof to delivered packaging usually lands inside two to three weeks for a first run. Rush production is available for tight deadlines, priced separately on the quote.

    09

    Printed Sample Available Before Bulk

Digital proofs are included with every order at no cost. A printed sample showing the actual artwork on the actual substrate is available on request before bulk runs. Sample fees scale with the finish list. The sample is the last sense-check before plates run for the full quantity.

    01 / 04

Packaging That Fits Your Product, Brand and Budget

Most packaging suppliers expect you to walk in already knowing what you want. Mailer or folding carton. Kraft or white. Window or no window. Spot UV or matte lam. For brands that have been ordering packaging for years, that is fine. For first-time buyers and small Australian businesses launching a product, it is the wrong place to start.

This page sits one step earlier in the process. Before the dieline. Before the print spec. Before the artwork is finalised. We work with founders, indie makers and operators of small Australian brands who know what their product is, but are still working out how it should be packaged. The brief usually lands as a description of the product, a budget range, and a few photos of packaging the founder admires. From there we recommend the box style, talk through the trade-offs and put a quote together.

If you already know which format you want, our printed mailer cartons page covers e-commerce mailers in detail and the format-by-format pages each go deep on construction. This page is for the earlier conversation, where the format question is still on the table.

    02 / 04

How We Help You Choose the Right Box Style

The first question is usually how the customer will encounter the box. A box that ships to a customer's door looks different from a box that sits on a retail shelf. The shipping box has to survive the courier; the shelf box has to win attention next to four competitors. Once we know the channel, the choice narrows quickly.

Online-only brands typically need a single mailer that handles shipping and the unboxing moment in one go. Retail brands often need two boxes: an outer shipper and an inner display carton sized to the product. Hybrid brands selling both ways usually go with a printed mailer plus a separate inner carton, so the same product looks right whether it ships direct or sits on a shelf.

The product itself dictates the second decision. Small, light items often work in a sleeve or pillow box. Heavier or fragile products need a rigid lid-and-base or a sturdy mailer with internal protection. Premium price points tend to call for tuck-end folding cartons or rigid boxes; everyday price points work fine with kraft or printed corrugated.

Budget shapes the final call. A polished kraft mailer with a one-colour stamp can land cheaper than a four-colour rigid box and still look great on the doorstep. We will tell you when an expensive option is doing real work for the brand, and when a cheaper option will get the same job done.

    03 / 04

Dieline Design, Artwork Help and Prototyping

Print-ready files speed everything up, but most first-time buyers do not have them. That is fine. Send what you have. Sketches, reference photos, mockups from a designer, even a rough idea pasted into an email is enough to start the conversation. From there we work out which box format suits, build the dieline around your product, and supply a flat artwork template back to your designer to drop graphics into.

If you do not have a designer, we can adapt simple artwork in-house: positioning a logo, picking a brand colour from your existing site, working out the right typography size for the panel. Anything more involved (illustrations, full pattern artwork, photography) we point out as a job for a designer rather than something we cover ourselves.

Prototyping is available before you commit to bulk. A printed sample shows how the artwork sits on the actual substrate, how the colour reads in real light, and whether the proportions feel right when the box is in your hands. Sample fees scale with the finish list. Once you sign off on the sample, the dieline and print file move into production for the full run.

The same prep work pairs with our retail product cartons for brands that want a single packaging system across a small range, rather than one-off boxes that look unrelated when placed side by side.

Ordering Custom Packaging Boxes in Australia: Quote, Proof, Print, Ship

The full sequence is straightforward. Send what you have through the quote request form: product description, rough quantity, budget, format preference if you have one, and any artwork or sketches. We come back within a business day with a quote, a recommended box format if you have not chosen yet, and a production timeline. Once you approve, we send a digital proof showing the layout and dieline. Approve the proof and production runs 8 to 10 business days, then 3 to 5 days transit anywhere in Australia at no charge. Rush production is available for time-sensitive launches and tight deadlines, priced separately on the quote.

Minimum order is flexible. We recommend starting at 100 units for a first run. Small enough to test the packaging on real customers without a heavy upfront commitment, big enough to get per-unit pricing into a sensible range. Most first-time buyers come back for a second run within three to six months once they have validated the design with their customer base.

Reorders skip the upfront design and pre-production conversation since the print spec is already settled with you. Each reorder still goes through the full 8 to 10 business day production cycle, so plan reorder timing the same as a first run. Resupply the approved artwork files at quote stage and the spec gets re-applied.

For brands moving past the first-run stage and managing multiple SKUs, our branded printed boxes service covers brand-colour consistency across larger product ranges and ongoing production cycles.

    FAQ

    Have a question?

Browse the answers below, or get in touch and we will be happy to help.

What is the difference between custom packaging boxes and stock packaging?

Stock packaging is mass-produced in fixed sizes with no branding; custom packaging is built to your product dimensions and printed with your artwork. Custom costs more per unit but presents the brand properly, fits the product without slipping or shifting in transit, and gives the buyer a packaging moment that stock cannot replicate.

How do I choose the right box style for my product?

Tell us the product, the channel (online, retail or both), and a budget range. We come back with a recommended box format, the trade-offs explained, and a quote for the recommended option. There is no design fee for the recommendation conversation. Most first-time buyers settle on a format within one or two emails.

Do you handle artwork and dieline design, or do I need to supply files?

Both options are covered. If you have print-ready files, we run them through pre-press checks and move to proof. If you do not, we build the dieline around your product and supply a template back to your designer, or adapt simple artwork in-house. More involved illustration or photography work needs a designer.

Do you have stock sizes, or is every box made to my product?

Every packaging box is fully custom and built to the dimensions of your product. There is no stock size range to choose from. Send the product dimensions, a sample or even rough sketches, and the dieline is built around what is going inside, with internal clearance specced for the contents.

What is the minimum order for custom packaging?

Minimum order is flexible, with 100 units the recommended starting point for a first run. That keeps per-unit pricing reasonable while letting you test the packaging on real customers. Most first-time buyers come back for a second run once the design has proven itself with their audience.

    How long does production take?

Production runs 8 to 10 business days from proof approval, with 3 to 5 days transit after dispatch. Total time from approved proof to delivered packaging is typically two to three weeks. Rush production is available where the deadline does not allow the standard window, priced separately on the quote. Reorders run on the same timeline since each batch goes through the full production cycle, but the design and pre-production phase is skipped because the spec is already settled.

Can I see a sample before placing a bulk order?

Digital proofs are included free with every order. Physical samples showing your artwork printed on the actual substrate are available on request before the bulk run. Sample fees scale with the finish list. Send a brief through the quote request form to start the conversation.
